The treat you have long awaited…a special piece written by our own J.C. Compton!

While we were riding on a bus to go

to D.C and the toilet was stinky

first we saw Abraham Lincoln’s Memorial,

but before that we saw his hat and it was phat.

Next, we went to the memorial of Thomas Jefferson,

He was like my homey – yeah, he’s tight son.

After that the bus broke down, and everyone was sad.

Ms. Vice said, “Don’t get out of the car, we’ll get your luggage.”

And then JC thought that it was going to be a truck truggage.

So we took the second bus and everyone was sad that we had a curfew time,

so JC made a rap to make everyone happy with a rhyme.

So we went home. We slept, we bathed.

And then I went to sleep and I was dreaming about a candy cane maid.

The next day, we went to the play,

and I thought the stage was supposed to be a big fat tray.

But that was ok. Because I’m crazy, amazing.

First, I thought Huck was a duck, and Jim was a girl named Kim, and Tom was the bomb.

And then the bomb blew up, and Osama Bin Laden was killed…by a seal.

*Sorry for the abrupt ending, our superstar had more important things to do tonight like swim!

Here are some pictures from our trip so far! We are going to Mt. Vernon tomorrow to visit where our first President lived. After lunch, we are boarding that bus for our journey home! All of you parents at home should be proud of your students! They have been troopers and have been great representatives of both Calvary and Jesus Christ.

Well folks, it has been a busy two days! We have been to the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the WW2 Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the Holocaust Museum, the Smithsonian Museums, the National Building Museum, and a dinner theater. We also had the excitement of riding the Metro, which was quite an experience since most of the kids have never been on the subway. In this picture some of our boys are waving at the traffic passing beneath a Metro bridge. At the moment we are rejoicing with our President over the death of Bin Laden. We are all excited to be in D.C. for this news. Tomorrow is going to be another busy day, but have no fear you have a special treat coming to you sometime tomorrow!

Our First Day!

Yesterday, we went to Arlington National Cemetary to watch the changing of the gaurd. We also went to see the Airforce Memorial and the Pentagon Memorial. We actually got to see the White house while in the bus. We did ALOT of walking that first day. So once we were on our way to the hotel our bus brokedown. We stayed there for a long time talking with our friends. Luckily, thank the Lord Jesus, another bus got us safely to our hotel. Most of us were pretty tired when we got here! :)

Something new...

Hi everybody,

We wanted to try something new on the trip this year, so we thought why not blogging! Throughout the trip the students will keep you informed of what they did that day, their favorite sites, and I am sure any funny story they can manage to get on here! We will also try our best to upload pictures so those of you at home can experience Washington D.C. with us! We hope this is a success and that all of you enjoy our blog!

This is a blog that we are using while we are in D.C. We are leaving April 28 next Thursday. We are very excited about going. I can't wait to see the Smithsonian Museum. We hope you enjoy our blog!!!!!!!!!!!
